Bridal Shower #3

So my mom's friends threw me a bridal shower last Saturday.

Myself, Janet, Irene and Lorie were probably the younger ones there. But we still had a lot of fun! Great food, great friends and great presents always make a great party :D

The theme of the shower was "kitchen" so I got a lot of great stuff! We can't wait to use them after the wedding! And I think Brent and I have enough towels to last until our 25th Anniversary. Oh how I love new and fluffy towels!

We played a few cute games:

1. Guess what objects are on the table. There were about 20 things on the table and we had about 30 seconds to look at all of them before they were covered up by a sheet. Once covered, we had to go back to our seats and write down as many objects as we can. The one who gets the most 'correct' anwers gets a prize.

2. Guess how many candies are in the jar. Simple yet only one winner!

3. Guess what is in Bless' purse. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to play.

4. This section is censored. The last present I opened was two boiled eggs and a banana. One of the ladies gave me a box of condoms and wanted to see how well I could put the condom on the banana. I was thinking of doing everything with my mouth but then I thought my parents wouldn't think it was ladylike. (My mom was right in front of me and my dad in the other room).

I'm still traumatized...

And I think this makes a great end for this post.

Bridal Shower #2

My bridesmaids hosted a bridal shower for me on Saturday.

It was a 'fairytale' inspired shower, which was just awesome. We had it at my maid of honour's parents' backyard - they decorated the place with blue and everything to do with fairytale:

Rice Krispies "magic wands"

"Princess and the Pea" assorted sandwiches

"Bless and the Beanstalk" salad

....just to name a few details. It was a delicious sight.

We played a couple of games like "What Princess Are You?". Everyone wore a tiara with a name of a Princess or leading Disney female character. We had to go around and ask yes/no questions for clues. Of course, everyone just sat at their chairs and yelled across the table but it was just as fun.

The second game we played was "Guess How Old The Bride Is". There was a poster with 10 photos of me growing up and everyone had to guess what age I was in each picture. My mom got 2 out of 10.

The third group game we played was a "Wedding Trivia". Do you know that "bride" in old english means "cook"? Good luck Brent!

The last game we played was really just for me. It was "How Well Does Bless Know Brent"? While sitting on my throne, with my super princess hat and wand, I had to answer a list of trivial questions about Brent. Each question I get wrong, I had to chew a hubba bubba bubble gum (<-- massive gums!). Well, I have to say that I did great! I only had to chew 4 bubble gums. Mostly because I'm so sure that Brent made them up on the spot. Like favourite animal is a hawk? What's up with that?

After the games, I opened my presents which by the way were awesome! I thought I'd be getting a plethora of lingerie but the only one I got was from my mom... eek. Sorry mom, not having any babies anytime soon!

We had cake afterwards, Jenn made a princess cake which was absolutely delicious! It was the perfect way to end such a beautiful shower.

Me and Jenn

I'll post more pics as soon as I get them from my bridemaids.

Thanks to everyone who were able to attend the shower - it was really nice to see you there and to share this special time with me. And many thanks to Janet, Kim, Jenn, Courtnay and Jagreet for a fabulous shower!

Bridal Shower #1

I know you guys are dying to find out how my dress fitting went last night, so allow me to fill you in.

Well, I’m happy to report that there’s no damage to my skin. It took a few seconds to get the zipper going but then it was a piece of cake ...mmmmmm...cake...mmmm... Okay Brent, after the wedding, I’m letting myself go...

End scene.

Okay so the last part was a bit dramatic. I haven’t been on any serious wedding diet yet. But with the wedding coming up in five weeks (oh dear), I need to start transforming my thoughts into action. So it’s official, on Sunday July 8th,I will start eating healthy. No more ice teas and burgers. Only ice and lettuce.

Moving along...

Guess what!? I had a lovely surprise today! My mom and work friends threw a surprise bridal shower for me! Lots of presents and food and laughs, I had sooo much fun! I can’t wait to show Brent my presents! He’ll be so jealous! Especially with the black thong I got. I just hope he doesn’t try it on because FOR THE LAST TIME, I wear women’s underwear, they’re not unisex!

Anyway, back to the work bridal shower, I had such a wonderful time! I was really surprised, honestly!!! I’m actually quite frightened to see the picture they took of me when I walked in. I probably had one of those ginger beef eyes.
